ENGINEERING world series prade

Working together with the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the Kansas City Sports Commission and the Kansas City Royals, O’Neill planned and produced a joyous 2.2 mile-long parade through the heart of Downtown, followed by a massive victory rally in front of historic Union Station to celebrate the Royals winning the World Series in 2015. Media reported over 800,000 people attended the event, making it the largest public celebration in the history of Missouri.

O’Neill staff worked closely with Kansas City officials and key partners to plan, coordinate and manage the big parade and rally. Our direct responsibilities included overall management, budgeting, sponsorships, route management, street closures, security, public communications, parade lineup, logistics, stage, sound and lighting, equipment rental, media relations, décor and coordination of volunteers.

In just a four-week timeframe, $350,000 in sponsorship revenue was raised. Sponsors included The City of Kansas City, Missouri, The Kansas City Royals, Jackson County, Kansas City Area Chevy Dealers, Commerce Bank, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, Kansas City Steak Company, Pepsi, Sprint Center, Union Station, The National WWI Museum and Memorial, Kansas City Power & Light District, JE Dunn Construction, James B. Nutter Home Loans, Ivy Funds, Budweiser, Hy-Vee, KPMG LLP and the University of Kansas Hospital.
