ENGINEERING mlb all-star game

In 2012 the Major League Baseball All-Star Game was held at newly renovated Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. O’Neill was hired by the Mayor and City Manager of Kansas City to coordinate All-Star related events and marketing efforts throughout the city, while being a liaison to Major League Baseball and its Kansas City affilates. O’Neill formed an All-Star Host Committee to coordinate, educate and communicate everything All-Star related to businesses, civic organizations and the general population. Together with Visit KC, O’Neill created a multi-tiered marketing campaign that opened the eyes of baseball ‘FanatiKCs’ around the world to the KC renaissance. Additionally, O’Neill created and managed the Grand Slam Fan Jam, a free 3-day festival outside the MLB All-Star FanFest, as well as five free community watch parties around the metro during the night of the All-Star Game, in order to afford the public a chance to watch and enjoy this fun, colorful and highly inclusive community extravaganza.
